Chevening Gardens – National Open Garden Scheme



Chevening Gardens will be open this summer on Sunday, 2 June 2019, in support of the National Gardens Scheme.

The Open Gardens event is to raise money for nursing and caring charities such as Macmillan Support and Help the Hospices.


The opening is by kind permission of the Board of Trustees, with the generous agreement of the Foreign Secretary.


This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the historic gardens with their woodland, lake, and maze and to buy plants from an independent nursery.

Tea and cakes may be purchased on site in aid of Chevening Church and the car park is free.


Gardens open: 14:00 ~ 17:00


Admission: £7.00

Children under 16: £1.00

Peony Farm Open Days




The farm grows over 6000 peonies plants with more than 30 varieties that bloom at the end of May and throughout June.


We welcome everyone that loves flowers to visit during our open weekends, to walk through the fields, take photos along, and enjoy a cup of tea.


We have a nursery where they can buy their favourite variety if they wish.

There will be thirteen beautiful gardens to explore together with an Arts & Crafts exhibition and sale.


A BBQ, pub lunches and other refreshments will be available throughout the day.


The event is being held to raise funds in support of two village charities and the Chartwell Cancer Trust, Princess Royal Hospital, Farnborough, Kent.


Ticket purchases: £6 per adult in advance / £8 on the day.

Children under 16 can visit free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult.

Floriade 2022

Holland's once-in-a-decade World's Fair of horticulture - World Expo Floriade - Amsterdam - Almere 2022


The world's largest horticultural expo with exhibitions from more than 30 countries


Almere Floriade will be a grid of gardens on a 45ha square shaped peninsula.

Each block will be devoted to different plants, a plant library organized alphabetically.

The blocks are each devoted to a wide variety of different programs, from pavilions to homes, offices and even a university which will be

organized as a stacked botanical garden, a vertical eco-system in which each class room will have a different climate to grow certain plants.

Visitors will be able to stay in a jasmine hotel, swim in a lily pond and dine in a rose garden. The city will offer homes in orchards, offices with planted interiors and bamboo parks.

The Expo and new city centre will be a place that produces food and energy, a green, urban district demonstrating how plants, indeed nature itself ,enriches every aspect of our daily lives.

Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens


Lower Beeding, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 6PP


Reopened in April 2019


Leonardslee is a Grade 1 listed 19th-century Italianate style country house and landscaped woodland garden which closed to the public in 2010.

The garden is particularly noted for its spring displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, magnolias and bluebells, with the flowering season reaching its peak in May.


The house and gardens were acquired by new owners in July 2017, who are dedicated to restoring, maintaining and further improving the gardens and buildings.

so that the public can once again experience their beauty and special qualities. The primary phase of their considerable renovation was completed in time for the opening date.
